The $7 mascara I swear by – and the WFH make up that I’m wearing TODAY
For as long as I can remember, my makeup routine has always been a bit boring! And when people find out that I’m a Beauty Editor, they are surprised because I really don’t wear a lot of makeup. My routine normally consists of a BB cream or tinted moisturiser, a creamy natural blush, lip gloss or a nude lipstick and black mascara. The classic ‘no makeup makeup’ look.
I just want my makeup to help me look glowing. Well. Rested. Healthy. The best version of me. For nights out, I might zhuzh it up with a finger smudge of a shimmery eyeshadow and black eyeliner. Or for when I’m feeling extra daring, I might break out a red lipstick. But even then, I like to keep my makeup look quite effortless.
The furthest I’ve gone in stepping out of my comfort zone recently with makeup is with a blue eyeliner. And it was only because I loved the shade name – Diana Blue. It brought back memories of the beautiful doey-blue-eyed liner look the late Princess Diana wore in the eighties. And I actually really liked wearing it. I wore it just on my waterlines and it made the whites of my eyes pop.

Anyway, I thought I’d share the makeup I am wearing today to WFH.
I have a couple of Zoom meetings so I’ve made an effort with mascara – a skip I normally step! And I absolutely love the e.l.f Cosmetics Lash XTNDR Mascara in Pitch Black. It’s a tubing formula so doesn’t smudge and one coat is enough to make your eyes stand out naturally.
My base is Trinny London BFF De Stress Serum in Leslie. I’ve been using this for years. It’s SO EASY to apply and gives skin a lovely healthy, even finish. So natural!
Next up is Basma The Foundation Stick in 027. Sometimes I need extra coverage over any redness around my nose or if I have any blemishes. This range was created by an amazing lady that suffered burns to her face when she was a baby hence why the coverage is so natural!
Jones Road Lip & Cheek Stick in Bright Pink is the perfect blush and it suits so many skin tones. It’s creamy enough to apply with ease but doesn’t rub off. And it has the perfect amount of pigment to give your face a really natural flush of colour. I dab it on my lips too.
